Introduction

HDPE yarn for industrial applications starts from the same property that makes polyethylene the most widely used plastic in the world: a linear, semi-crystalline structure that resists chemicals, moisture and wear while staying light.

For industrial users we normally recommend the heavier counts of our PE Flat FDY yarn, 200D, 300D and 400D, which are fully drawn for good tenacity and elongation. The yarn has a smooth surface and a cool feel, and it keeps stable physical properties from lot to lot, which matters when a glove line or a loom runs for weeks at a time.

Our customers here are glove makers, technical fabric weavers and converters. We produce to order, so denier, filament count, polymer pairing (PE/PP or PE/Nylon) and color can be tuned to the job, and our R&D team works with yours on new material requests.

Application

Industrial buyers care about durability, resistance and consistency more than hand feel. The yarn is used in:

  • Work and protective gloves: knitted gloves exposed to liquids, oils or industrial substances, where chemical and moisture resistance reduce wear on the glove.

  • Industrial woven fabrics: 300D and 400D yarn for utility cloth, covers and technical textiles that need strength at a low weight.

  • Automotive and vehicle interiors: woven and knitted trim textiles that value light weight and a cool touch.

  • Outdoor and utility products: bags, covers and straps made from wear-resistant, quick-drying fabric (UV-stabilized grade recommended).

  • Blended technical yarns: combined with other fibres to balance cost, strength and comfort in a finished product.

Polyethylene absorbs almost no moisture, so fabrics dry quickly and do not gain weight in damp conditions, which is helpful in wet or humid working environments.

Payment and Shipping

Payment terms

  • T/T (bank transfer) is our standard method; L/C at sight is accepted for qualified orders.

  • Deposit and balance terms are written into the quotation, so there are no surprises at shipment.

  • Sample orders can be settled by bank transfer or other methods we agree on with you.

Shipping and lead time

  • Goods ship from our factory base in Haian, Nantong, Jiangsu, with Shanghai seaport as the usual port of loading.

  • Sea freight for production quantities, express (DHL, FedEx, UPS) or air freight for samples and urgent lots.

  • Trade terms such as EXW, FOB Shanghai and CIF can be quoted according to your forwarder setup.

  • Heavy-denier yarn is packed in robust cartons on pallets for sea freight, and package weight can be adjusted for automatic knitting or weaving feeds.

  • Export packing is done in cartons on pallets, with labels showing denier, lot number and net weight.

  • Q: Which HDPE yarn denier is best for industrial use?

  • A: Heavy-duty woven cloth usually uses 300D or 400D FDY. Glove knitting often uses 100D to 200D yarn, sometimes plied or blended. Send us your machine gauge or fabric weight and we will suggest a count.

  • Q: Is your HDPE yarn the same as UHMWPE or cut-resistant fibre?

  • A: No. Ours is high-density polyethylene filament, chosen for chemical resistance, light weight and comfort. It is not a replacement for UHMWPE or HPPE where a high cut level is required. We can discuss blended structures for such projects.

  • Q: How does the yarn behave around chemicals?

  • A: Polyethylene resists many acids, alkalis and water. Strong oxidizing agents and some solvents at higher temperatures can affect it, so test the yarn against your specific chemicals.

  • Q: Can the yarn be used outdoors in sunlight?

  • A: Standard polyethylene yarn is not UV stabilized, so long sunlight exposure can reduce strength. For outdoor use, tell us the exposure level and we will discuss a UV-stabilized option.

  • Q: What temperature can it handle?

  • A: HDPE melts at around 125 to 135 C. It is fine at normal working temperatures but not suited to high-heat contact, hot-press processes or applications needing heat resistance.

  • Q: Do you offer custom specifications for industrial buyers?

  • A: Yes. We make yarn to order: denier, filament count, polymer pairing, color and package. Send your technical requirements and we will reply within 12 working hours.
