Application
Weaving needs a yarn with even denier, stable tension and enough strength to survive the shed. A flat-filament FDY yarn meets these needs, and the cool touch adds a selling point to the finished fabric. Typical uses include:
Cooling bedding fabrics: woven sheets, pillowcases and summer quilt covers where surface coolness matters.
Mattress fabrics: ticking and cover cloth for summer-feel mattresses, mattress toppers and pads.
Upholstery and home decor: heavier 200D to 400D yarn for sofa covers, cushions and curtains.
Blended woven cloth: used with cotton, polyester or nylon to add cool touch or surface contrast.
Woven technical fabrics: 300D and 400D options for utility and industrial cloth.
Where bulk or a softer hand is needed in the weft, our PE Texture DTY yarn (30D to 75D) is often paired with the FDY warp.
Advantages
Wide denier range: 50D to 400D covers light shirting up to heavier home textile cloth from one supplier.
Cool touch without finishing: the effect belongs to the yarn, not to a coating that can wash out.
Stable quality: each process is inspected before shipment, with inspection to your requirements and international standards.
Custom production: special counts, cross-sections and bi-component structures made to your specification.
Factory direct: our own lines, raw material control and R&D team, with tracking support through the order.
How HDPE FDY compares with other weaving filaments
| Property | HDPE FDY | Polyester FDY | Nylon FDY |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cool touch | Strong | Moderate | Moderate |
| Density (g/cm3) | About 0.95 | About 1.38 | About 1.14 |
| Moisture regain | Near zero | About 0.4 percent | About 4 percent |
| Melting point | About 130 C | About 255 C | About 220 to 260 C |
| Best for | Cool-feel and lightweight woven cloth | General apparel and home fabrics | High-abrasion cloth |
Note the lower melting point of polyethylene: keep ironing, heat-setting and drying temperatures within the range agreed for the fabric.
