Phase-Change (PCM) Yarn

Introduction

Phase-Change Material (PCM) Yarn is a "thermal battery" for your body. This yarn contains micro-encapsulated paraffin waxes that absorb, store, and release heat. When your skin temperature rises, the PCM melts (at a molecular level) and absorbs the excess thermal energy, keeping you cool. When your skin temperature drops, the PCM solidifies and releases that stored heat back to the body.

This creates a "thermal buffer" that maintains a constant micro-climate between 28∘C and 32∘C. GC FIBER’s PCM yarns are essential for activewear in variable climates and for high-end sleepwear. Unlike traditional insulation which simply traps heat, PCM yarn manages it, ensuring the wearer never feels too hot or too cold.
