Introduction

Cool-Touch Yarn (also known as High Thermal Effusivity Yarn) is engineered to provide an instant and lasting cooling sensation upon contact with the skin. Unlike topical chemical treatments that wash away, GC FIBER’s cooling properties are "built-in" using two primary methods: specialized cross-sectional shapes (like cross- or Y-shapes) that maximize surface area for rapid heat dissipation, and the infusion of sub-micron cooling minerals (such as jade or mica powder) directly into the polymer melt. These minerals act as heat sinks, drawing thermal energy away from the body and releasing it into the atmosphere.

Our Cool-Touch technology is quantified by its Q-max value, a measure of the peak heat flux from the skin to the fabric. While standard fabrics have low Q-max values, our specialty yarns consistently achieve values above 0.20, placing them in the "instant cooling" category. This yarn is not only about temperature; it is also designed with a capillary-action structure to ensure superior moisture wicking. As the wearer sweats, the yarn pulls moisture to the outer surface for rapid evaporation, creating a secondary evaporative cooling effect.
