Application
FDY polyester suits constructions that need a smooth, even, strong filament. Typical uses are:
Woven apparel: linings, shirting, dress fabrics and satin-type cloth.
Home textiles: curtains, bed sheets, cushion covers and upholstery.
Warp knit and mesh: lace, tulle, sports mesh and tricot.
Ribbons, labels and tapes: narrow fabrics with clean surface and color.
Bags and outdoor fabrics: heavier counts for strength and abrasion resistance.
For a softer, stretchier fabric, FDY is often combined with DTY in the same construction.
Advantages
Ready to use: fully drawn, no extra drawing or texturing needed.
Even and strong: controlled denier and tenacity for stable weaving and warping.
Look and feel options: luster, cross-section and color to your fabric design.
Documented quality: lot data on tenacity, elongation and denier available on request.
Factory support: multiple lines, in-process inspection and OEM development.
What to check when you source FDY polyester
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Denier tolerance and evenness | Uneven yarn causes streaks and dye variation |
| Tenacity and elongation | Decide strength and broken ends in weaving or warping |
| Boiling water shrinkage | Affects fabric size and hand after finishing |
| Intermingle level | Needed for stable high-speed warping and weaving |
| Lot consistency | Mixed lots can show shade bars in the finished fabric |
Ask each supplier for the same data on the same counts, then run a trial beam before bulk orders.
