Application
Textured filaments are used wherever fabric needs softness, stretch or cover. Typical uses are:
Knit apparel and sportswear: stretch and recovery in T-shirts, leggings and underwear.
Socks and hosiery: soft, durable knits.
Home textiles: blankets, curtains, upholstery and bedding.
Woven weft: bulk and softness in woven fabrics.
Warp knits: velour and fleece-type cloth.
Technical and automotive textiles: knit and woven trim.
The yarn can be knitted on circular, flat and warp machines, or woven as weft, with small setting changes.
Advantages
Soft, full hand: crimp gives a spun-like feel.
Natural stretch: moderate elasticity without elastane.
Good cover: bulk fills fabric gaps for a more opaque, warmer cloth.
Many options: luster, intermingle, color, hollow and recycled types.
Controlled quality: POY control and inspection after each process.
Common ways to texture polyester filament
| Route | Surface | Stretch | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| False-twist (DTY) | Soft, smooth crimp | Moderate to high | Knit apparel, socks, soft fabrics |
| Air-jet | Spun-like, looped | Low | Woven fabrics with a natural look |
| Flat (no texture) | Smooth, sleek | Low | Linings, satin, warp knit |
Our main supply is false-twist DTY. Tell us if you need another texturing route and we will review it.
